- Pick up and drop off from anywhere in downtown St. John’s.
- Start at St. John’s: Start your tour in St. John’s and head south towards the Irish Loop, a scenic drive that takes you through small towns and picturesque fishing villages.
- Visit Ferryland: Your first stop on the Irish Loop should be Ferryland, a small town known for its historic lighthouse and archaeological sites. You can explore the Ferryland Lighthouse and take a guided tour of the Ferryland Archaeological Site.
- Visit Aquaforte: Aquaforte is a small fishing village with a beautiful harbor and a historic stone church. You can take a stroll around the village and visit the picturesque St. Joseph’s Church, which dates back to the early 19th century.
- Drive through Tors Cove: Tors Cove is a tiny community nestled on the coast of the Irish Loop. The area is known for its rugged coastline and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
- Visit Bay Bulls: Bay Bulls is a small town located about 30 minutes south of St. John’s and is known for its whale-watching tours. You can take a boat tour to see humpback whales, dolphins, and other marine life in their natural habitat.
- Visit Witless Bay Ecological Reserve: The Witless Bay Ecological Reserve is a protected area that is home to millions of seabirds, including puffins, murres, and kittiwakes. You can take a boat tour to see these amazing creatures up close.
- Continue your journey to St. Mary’s Bird Sanctuary, which is located just outside of St. Mary’s. This sanctuary is home to a wide variety of bird species, including bald eagles, osprey, and great blue herons. Take a leisurely walk along the trails and boardwalks to observe the birds in their natural habitat.
This Irish Loop tour will take you through some of the most beautiful and historic areas of Newfoundland. You’ll see rugged coastline, picturesque villages, and amazing wildlife. Be sure to bring your camera, as there will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way.
Important Information
Minimum booking is 3 seats. Pick-up time will be confirmed 1-3 days prior to the tour date via email or phone. If you do not have access to these, please be ready 30 minutes prior to the tour start time in the hotel lobby. Please note that adverse weather may result in cancellation.
